SERVER TRAINING
This training session
will teach you how to run and operate
the server version of this software.
I am going to attempt to make this as
simple as possible and go over the most
important concepts in basic
non-technical terms. However there
are a few terms that I can quickly teach
you to make this much easier.
Don't let the black and white pictures
scare you -- this is actually very easy.
Running the server program is actually
very easy.

those who don't want to read...
In 50 Words Or Less... How Do
You Use The Server Program? |
| Click on
Evaluate, Server Version, type
in a username, and press
connect. At the bottom of
the server screen you will see
your IP address. Tell your
friend this IP address and tell
him to read the client training
manual on this site. Done.
Watch for change in cards as
your friends connect to you. |
For those who need more then 50
words and love the details:
To keep things basic and simple I want
to first lay out a scenario that will be
similar to your own. Let us say
that you have purchased or are
considering purchasing this software and
you ask your friend to "join"
the team. I want to take you
through step by step and explain how to
get started and setup.
Lets first look at what exactly the
goal is and some fast and friendly
terms. First of all in order for
this software to work your friend is
going to need to be running the client
program. You will need to
ask him to visit this website and
download the client software in order to
get started. If he or she does not
know how to operate the client program
then be so kind as to refer them to the
Client Training manual on this website
and I can teach him how. You my
friend will need to run the server
program. Now take a quick
glance at the Visual 1A diagram below.
|
 |
The client version is
used by any player that wishes to send
card data to the other user. If
you are in a 5 person game then you
would need 1 individual running the
server program and the other 4 running
the client software. |
| As you can see your
friends (represented as Players 2-5) are
running the client software while you
(represented as Server) will be
connected and running the server
software. This will allow your
friends to send you their card
information over a live connection.
Now that all the technical aspects are
out of the way let me show you how to
actually setup the software to
accomplish this. |
|
There are few things you will need to
use the server version:
|
1. Your
friend must be running the
client program on his computer
in order for both of you to
connect.
2. You must either own a
registered copy of the server
program or be within your demo
trial period. |
|
| |
 |
| First
thing to do is open the
Collusion software and
click on the evaluate
button. From there
you want to click on the
Server Version LAUNCH
button as seen in the
screen shot to the left. |
|
|

|
Username or Nickname
You will now see a screen that
is similar to the one above.
First, type in a username or
nickname of your choice.
This should be something that
you friend can recognize as
being you. Please do not
include non-alphabetical
characters and keep your
nickname as short as possible.
Long names clutter up the chat
screen which could interfere
with fast communication. |
|
| Now That
Connected.. |
| If you see a
similar screen to the one below
then you are
"listening" for other
connections. This means
your friends have the ability to
connect to you. |
|
| Now
that you are
connected you
will see the
screen as shown
to the left.
Now for the
important part.
You must provide
your Server IP
Address to your
friend in order
for him to
connect to you.
I have made this
easy for you and
had my software
print your
current IP
address at the
bottom of the
software.
I also took a
screen shot of
it and pointed
it out to you.
In this example
MY IP would be
70.222.40.105.
You must open
your software to
find out what
YOUR IP is.
My IP and YOUR
IP will be two
different
numbers so
please don't
provide your
friend my IP
address instead
of yours.
:) The IP
address will
have will be in
the same format
as you see to
the left
(###.###.###.###).
You must include
the
"."
between each set
of numbers.
Provide this
number to your
friend via
phone, instant
message, or
email. Any
mistakes in this
number will most
likely freeze
the software and
your friend will
have to close
the software and
start over
again.
Make sure that
you have the
server up and
running below
your friends
attempt to
Connect to you.
This is very
important!
If your friend
has a problems
connecting to
you then close
the software and
start the
process over
again.
|
|
 |
| Once
your friend has
learned how to
use the client
and you have
provided him the
SERVER IP
address he will
then be able to
connect to you.
Once he has
connected you
will see his
name and his
cards appear on
your server
application as
seen in the
screen shot to
the left.
In this case his
cards are the
three of
diamonds and the
2 of hearts.
His name is
Poker Pal (your
friend running
the client).
This
is what he sees
from his screen
and client
version
software: |
|

|
| When
he changes his
cards you will
immediately see
the changes on
your server
program. |
|
|

|
As you
can see you have space
for up to 5 friends to
join with you online.
As friends join they
will continue to build
on to your list.
Each friend has their
own chat room you can
communicate to them
using and you can issue
individual Card Commands
to each person. |

|
| You will
notice from the screen
shot of the client
version to the left that
there is a graphic in
the upper right hand
corner that says
"THINKING".
This is a card command.
If you choose the
command
"THINKING"
from the drop down box
on the server program
then that is what will
appear on their version
of the software.
If you choose ALL IN then
it will say All In, ect.
This will help you send
clear communication to
your friends quickly and
effectively. |
|
|
|
If you selected CLEAR
then it would clear off
the players cards which
tells him to resend his
cards to you. |
|
|
|
| That completes
the actual software training.
You should be able to connect to
your friends, receive card
information, and send back chat
commands. I do recommend
learning more about how to
properly collude and the game
play aspects of the strategy.
This software gives you the
ability to see the cards and
clearly communicate under the
table but now you have to learn
to outsmart your competition
using these tools. I do
recommend reading our Collusion
Method section of this website
to further education yourself. |
|
If you are still having trouble or if
you have questions then please contact
us so we can help. Chances are
that if you have an unanswered question
then someone else does as well. If
you are unable to connect to your friend
then I would recommend that both of you
read our Trouble Shooting guide to help
determine and solve any technical issues
that might prevent the software from
working with your computer and Internet
connection.
